So this is my blog. It's meant to be an up to date log of what I've been doing, what I'm thinking and a couple of other things. It's made after dinner, so be nice and enjoy.
I'm a designer, a thinker, a dreamer and I love Ideas.
So you think that new iPod docking station will solve your iPod, iPhone, hi-fi, CD, radio issue? It might. “And it will be super-minimalistic too.”
Minimalism is not just having less, it’s also buying less. Not buying that new bike if you have one. Not to buying that new iPod dock if you can already use cables and your existing hi-fi.
When faced with a buying new situation think of how you can purchase sensibly, or not at all. If your CD player brakes, perhaps it’s time to get an iPod dock, or something different, something state of the art. Maybe not having one would be better for you and cause less clutter and stress. But if you’re going to purchase one, get one that does minimalize clutter, frustration, millions of wires and makes you feel like life’s simpler and better. Purchase something that is going to last, that’s classic, that’s ahead of the game. Don’t buy crap because you’ll be getting more crap in sooner than you think.
And if something does break, and you need a new one or a replacement, give the old stuff or away, or at least recycle it.
Minimalism isn’t something that you can buy. It’s not something that you can consume, it’s a way of living. It’s a letting go of things and a desire for less.
